Ryantown Christmas Window!

Posted by on Friday 29th November, 2013

Every year Ryantown Shop on Columbia Road has a special Christmas window and this year is no exception! The window display this year was designed to mimic one the pages in Rob’s new book The Invisible Kingdom, with decorative picture frames hanging from the ceiling on chains. The window was installed last week ready for the book signing at Ryantown on Saturday. A huge thank you to everyone who came down to the shop to get their copy signed, it was a great day and Rob enjoyed meeting you all!

Here is a look at how the Christmas window was made here at Ryantown HQ.

Cynthia, the shop manager, sent a plan over to us and we set to work making giant picture frames cut from foam core. We cut each frame out by hand with a scalpel then sprayed both the front and back with black spray paint.

Once the pieces were dry we took them to the shop to be installed in the window. Cynthia added the finishing touches by hanging some of the shop products in each of the frames, including our new Christmas t-towel !
