‘There Is Only Time’ Wooden Clock: Part 1Posted by on Sunday 16th February, 2014
Tom has been busy at The Mangle screenprinting Rob’s piece ‘There Is Only Time’ on to birch plywood to create a brand new red wooden clock. The clock reads:
‘There is no such thing as free time. There is no such thing as spare time. There is no such thing as work time. There is no such thing as play time. There is no such thing as quality time. There is no such thing as down time. There is no such thing as the right time. There is no such thing as the wrong time. There Is Only Time. I am Theresa and Tom Ryans Son and I don’t feel a need to belong I’m lost in this universe for a brief speck of time. Too short for saluting to flags or bowing to Kings. I draw and write and dream and then ‘Puff’ I’m gone’
Our lovely friend Graham Smith of Graham Smith Making cut the wood down to size for us, which is very lightweight and measures approximately 60cm height x 40cm width x 5mm depth.
We have made only 35 of these and each clock has a hole drilled through the centre so the battery pack and clock hands can be easily attached.
The back has been screenprinted in bright blue and reads ‘ Ok! This clock picture thing was printed at The Mangle Screenprinting Studio, Temple Street, London, E2. By T.Camp. G.Smith cut the wood up. Robert Ryan did the Art Stuff Bit! And that is that! February 2014.’
I will post final images of both the front and back very soon.
