New Window at Ryantown
Posted by on Thursday 21st May, 2015To celebrate the launch of our new edition of our ‘Dreamed the Same Dreams’ plate in yellow we created a brand new window for Ryantown.
Tom took the artwork from the centre of the plate and made it into a single layer so that the whole image could be printed in one colour. He then put the artwork on screen.
At the shop Tom attached the artwork transparency to the inside of the window to enable him to line up the screen centrally.
Michelle and Freya then held the screen tightly to the window whilst Tom pulled the ink with a squeegee over the screen. This pushed the ink through the image and onto the glass, just like printing on paper!
Once the screen was removed the printed image was revealed! Its completely new to us to print directly onto glass and as this has been such a success we plan to create many more windows this way in the future! And once we are ready to change the window its easy to remove – we will just wash it off from the inside.
We’re really happy with our new window – we hope you agree it looks pretty good from both outside and inside!
Our ‘Dreamed the Same Dream’ plates are an edition of 40 and read: ‘Even though I know we dreamed the same dreams, I still wish that we’d known each other as children.’
They are now available in Ryantown and online too.
