Rob Ryan in collaboration with Macmillan
Posted by on Thursday 31st August, 2017We are excited to announce Rob’s latest collaboration with Macmillan Cancer Support.
Rob has worked to design a small range of items that will be on sale throughout September in all Marks and Spencer‘s stores UK wide, with 100% of the profits going to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Macmillan support patients with cancer from the moment of diagnosis, through treatment and beyond; as well as offering support to their families. There are 2.5 million people with cancer in the UK, and Macmillan aim to provide help, energy and inspiration to everyone that needs it.
Rob began by identifying key imagery within his work such as birds, nests and foliage whilst taking into account the scale of the items as his drawings would have to be reduced down to fit the products.
Here are some behind the scenes shots of the designing process, and Rob’s initial sketches.
For some elements Rob created the image as a papercut to ensure that the designs had a hand-cut feel.
The final designs were then sent across to Macmillan to be applied to the items and the packaging, after several stages of sampling we arrived at a complete collection which everyone involved was happy with.
The range consists of a pin badge
A black rollerball pen
And a trolley token keyring, with the new pound coin shape
These are now available in all M&S stores UK wide, you can find them at the till points. All proceeds go to Macmillan Cancer Support.
