‘I Don’t Have a Name’
“I was invited by the artist Magda Archer to contribute to the group exhibition ‘Not Quite Disney’ at Jealous London.
I produced this four colour screenprint”.
“As a child I loved cartoons, my favourites were The Wacky Races, Snagglepuss, Top Cat and Secret Squirrel.
Even as a kid I thought Mickey, Donald Goofy and co were lame and not understanding then that Mickey’s heritage was from ‘blackface’ minstrelsy the bottom line to me was that he just wasn’t funny”.
The show ran from 27th June to the 13th July 2024.
