The futility of anger

005

Hand-cut paper

Reads:

‘‘Sitting on the train afterwards as the fields and sky and trees sped past, I sat looking out of the window and tried to picture in my mind your face, but most of all your smile. You were always singing.
Always with a smile. But oh such smiles! From first thing of the day… Good morning and a smile, to the end of the day…Good night and a smile. Everything with a smile. I thought about you all through that long journey home again. Your smile which seemed like an invisible radiation, a power so strong and secret and all of us that were exposed to it were affected for life, and it burned onto our hearts an appreciation of joy and forgiveness and the futility of anger. Thank you Dad’’
