‘The Futility of Anger’
This hand-cut paper piece was made for the ‘Museum of Us’ exhibition at the Horse Hospital in London in 2004.
Reads:
‘Sitting on the train I closed my eyes + pictured your face, but most of all your smile. You never stopped singing and dancing – But oh, such smiles! From first thing in the day – Good morning + a smile, to the last thing at night – Good night and a smile. Everything with a smile. I thought about you all that journey. Everything with a smile which seemed like an invisible radiation. a power so strong and secret. And all of us that were exposed to it were affected for life, and it burned onto our hearts an appreciation of joy and forgiveness and the futility of anger.’
