Farewell to RyantownPosted by on Sunday 6th March, 2016
As many of you will be aware we closed the doors at Ryantown last weekend for the final time. In the last few weeks we were overwhelmed by the number of loyal customers, friends and fans who popped in for one last visit, sharing some of their favourite memories of the shop whilst they were there. I thought I’d take some time and share some of ours with you.
The journey started when Rob’s framer Brian asked if he’d like to take over a shop on Columbia Road. Rob had never imagined having a shop but the more he thought about it, the more he grew to love the idea and he thought he’d try it for a year……
…….we ended up celebrating many birthdays ……
We had LOTS of window displays ……
And we held lots of brilliant events, shows and signings throughout the 7 and a half years.
In 2009 we made the whole shop in black and white for ‘Ryantoon’ – including the outside!
And when we launched our wallpaper with Mini Moderns in 2011 we covered everything in the shop in it!!
Rob’s friend Cynthia ran the shop since the very beginning and truly made it what it was – we know many of you will miss her as much as you will the shop itself. Thank you Cynthia for being the heart and soul of Ryantown.
